Morning Covenant Prayer

Deuteronomy 32: 11- 12A

Like an eagle that rouses her chicks and hovers over her young, so He spread His wings to take them up and carry them safely on His pinions. The Lord alone led him;

Heavenly Father,

Please bless each of these moms today and every day with more of You and with joy. We especially lift to You those moms who are hurting with the choices and the distance of their children. Let each of these moms know Lord, that You will do in the lives of these what only You can do.

Thank You for being at work! You are good in all You do.

Thank you for shepherding our children. You are sovereign. You are in control. Your purposes prevail. You allow us to mother – and that is an incredible privilege, but one that encompasses much. We humbly confess that many times we have failed in our assignment. Thank You that Your good plans don’t depend on us.

Your Word tells us a mother eagle stirs up her nest to get her eaglets to fly. Even as she nudges them toward independence, You also give her the wisdom to hover nearby. We ask for wisdom to parent and pray for _____. May each of their lives bring You glory, honor, and praise.

In the most wonderful Name in all the earth, Jesus,

Amen

Psalm 36:7

How priceless Your faithful love is, God! People take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.

Lord,

Your love is the greatest treasure. There is no refuge anywhere nearly as wonderful as the shadow of Your protective wings and the nearness of Your Presence.

Open the eyes of  to see that You are the best and to take refuge in You as a chick sheltered under the wings of its mom.

In the name of Jesus, One with You, Father,

Amen

Evening Covenant Prayer

Isaiah 66:13

I will comfort you there like a mother comforting her child.

Father,

There are many times in life when a child needs the comfort of a mom. A mom’s comfort dries tears and instills both hope and instruction.

You are perfect in all of Your ways. You know how best to comfort _____  . Yes, comfort them.  Thank You that Your comfort does not make us comfortable but shepherds and strengthens us for the road ahead.  Praise be to Your Holy Name.

Thank You for being at work in these lives and for leading us in prayer.

In the Name of Jesus, our comfort, our counselor, our friend, our Savior and  our coming King,

Amen
